MGSOC – General Meeting – “Peony: The Best Varieties for Your Garden” – David Michener

David Michener is the Associate Curator at the University of Michigan Matthaei Botanical Gardens and Nichols Arboretum.  David holds a B.A. with Highest Honors in Botany from University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill and an M.A. and Ph. D. in Botany from Claremont Graduate School, Claremont, California. He has written several technical reports and papers, co-authored Taylor’s Guide to Groundcovers and, most recently, Peony: The Best Varieties for Your Garden.   His discussion will cover this most recent book, including the history of peonies, the different types available and complete growing information for 194 of the best varieties.
